North Carolina Teletherapy
Quality Therapy, Wherever You Are
Getting to a therapist’s office isn’t always easy — and it shouldn’t have to be a barrier to getting support. At Out of the Closet Counseling, all sessions are held via teletherapy, so you can access compassionate, affirming care from anywhere in North Carolina.
Same quality. Same connection. No commute.

Who Teletherapy Is a Good Fit For
Teletherapy works well for a lot of people, but it’s especially worth considering if you:
- Live in a rural area or far from a therapist who specializes in your needs
- Have a busy schedule that makes in-office appointments difficult
- Experience anxiety that makes leaving home challenging
- Are part of the LGBTQIA+ community and want access to a specialist regardless of your location
- Simply feel more comfortable opening up from your own space
If you’ve been putting off therapy because of logistics, teletherapy removes most of those obstacles.
How It Works
Sarah uses SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform designed specifically for mental health providers. No downloads, no complicated setup — just a straightforward video connection from your browser.
Here’s what to expect:
1. Schedule Your Consultation Reach out via the contact form to set up a free initial consultation. Sarah will follow up to confirm a time that works for you.
2. Receive Your Secure Link Before each session, you’ll receive a secure link through SimplePractice. You can join from any device — phone, tablet, or computer.
3. Find Your Space All you need is a private space where you won’t be interrupted and a reliable internet connection. Your car, your bedroom, your home office — wherever you feel most at ease.
4. Show Up Click the link at your appointment time and you’re in. No waiting rooms, no parking, no rushing.
Privacy & Confidentiality
Your privacy matters. SimplePractice is a fully HIPAA-compliant platform, meaning your sessions are encrypted end-to-end and your information is never shared without your consent.
A few tips to help protect your privacy on your end:
- Use headphones to keep your session audio private
- Choose a space where you won’t be overheard — a closed room, or even your car with the windows up
- If you share devices with others, consider using a private or incognito browser window for your session link
As with all therapy, what you share in sessions is confidential, with the standard legal exceptions (such as imminent risk of harm). Sarah will walk you through the full details during your first session.
